I wanted to dedicate a post to share how my personal sustainable journey has been going. I want to look back on this post to see how much I have grown. But I also want to hopefully provide some tips and comfort for others on the same journey as me. I hope you enjoy :)

Composting
My composting journey was initially quite rocky to be honest. At first, it was really difficult to remember what was compostable and what wasn't. I also had trouble with storing my compost waste. This is because my waste would attract a lot of bugs and produce an unpleasant smell. Lastly, it was hard to get my whole family on board with composting.
However, with time, patience, research, and planning, I was able to find the best method for my family and me. First, we bought a compost bin that prevents smell and bugs from coming near it. I also took the time to explain to my family what can be composted and what can't. Lastly, I planned when was the best time to unload the waste we accumulated. All of this greatly aided in making composting easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Veganism
My goal to become vegan is something I have been working really hard on. Almost every week I experiment and try a new vegan recipe. Recently I have made vegan brownies, pizza, blueberry muffins, stir-fry, and ice cream. This has really helped me to want to become vegan. This is because it makes the transition to a vegan diet really enjoyable and exciting. I have made major replacements to my diet, like switching cow milk for oat milk and butter for plant-based butter. I have also stopped consuming eggs. There are only a couple of more steps I need to take, and hopefully, I will become fully vegan!

Zero-Waste
Sadly, I can't say that I live a complete zero-waste lifestyle. However, I have been trying to challenge myself and the students at my school to take part in a trash jar challenge, where we try to maintain all of the waste we accumulate in one week to fit into a jar. This might sound crazy, but it is an awesome exercise to expose people to a low-waste lifestyle.
I now use cotton grocery bags, reusable utensils and containers, and have been trying to support zero-waste companies like Bare Necessities! I hope that in a couple of years I can proudly say that I live a zero-waste lifestyle.

I hope you found this informative and helpful! Please let me know if you have any questions or comments by emailing me :)
Lets get green!
